UPSL Academy Crowns U15 and U17 West Region Champions in Provo, Utah
The UPSL Academy crowned its U15 and U17 West Region Champions this past weekend in Provo, Utah, as elite youth soccer clubs from across the region competed for top honors. The event showcased the highest levels of youth soccer talent in the UPSL Academy and served as a celebration of grit and competitive spirit in the growing UPSL Academy division.
In the U15 division, Spartans FC Academy from Tucson, Arizona were crowned 2024-25 West Region Champions. Spartans secured their first-ever UPSL Academy regional trophy after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Utah’s own Copper Mountain SC. The final was a tightly contested match with both teams pushing for the win. Spartans FC ultimately pulled away with a commanding performance in the second half to seal the victory and secure their place as first in the region.
“Our time this weekend at the UPSL Academy West Region Championship was great,” said Spartans FC U15 Head Coach Parker Tebo. “The facilities and the competition here over the weekend were top-notch. I’m very grateful for this experience with Spartans FC and the boys.”
“Our team chemistry over the course of this UPSL Academy season is what helped bring us to this point and ultimately win the West Region Championship. We hope to be back soon for this exciting new competition!”
In the U17 division, Club X Academy from Highland, Utah continued their dominance by winning back-to-back UPSL Academy West Region Champions. After winning last year’s UPSL Academy West Region title in California, Club X defended their crown, going unbeaten throughout the tournament. They capped their impressive tournament run with a decisive win over Pima County Surf from Arizona in the championship final.
