UPSL Academy Crowns U13 and U15 East Region Champions in Richmond, VA

The UPSL Academy East Regional Championship brought an action-packed weekend of soccer to River City Sportsplex in Richmond, Virginia, as top teams from across the East Coast battled for a regional title.  

In the Boys U13 Division, Long Island Premier FC claimed the title with an impressive victory over NY Renegades U13s. The matchup featured both the Spring 2025 and Fall 2024 champions from the Northeast American Academy conference, with Long Island Premier FC emerging victorious. 

In the Boys U15 division, Villarreal Virginia U15s delivered a strong performance to take the crown, defeating New York Renegades U15s in the final. Villarreal VA, the Fall 2024 champions from the DMV conference, showcased sharp attacking play and defensive shape to overcome the Spring 2025 winners from the Northeast American conference. 

Long Island Premier FC U13 Head Coach Josue Aceituno spoke highly of the event, sharing: “This weekend we had a great tournament, it was great experience for our boys and some great competition. We were excited to come out here and showcase our talent.” 

“The overall experience was amazing and we happy to see how the UPSL Academy is growing and creating tournament events such as this. We had a great time this weekend with the UPSL Academy.” His remarks reflect the excitement felt by many over the weekend. 

Due to weather conditions, the scheduled U17 East Regional Championship match was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
